Canva is rolling out a major upgrade to its platform with a fresh set of generative AI-driven tools, aiming to bring together design, productivity, and business functions into one unified space. With the launch of its revamped Visual Suite, Canva seeks to rival major platforms like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Cloud by offering an all-in-one solution.
The updated Visual Suite combines Canva’s design and productivity features into a single streamlined interface. This includes newly introduced tools for coding, photo editing, spreadsheets, and an AI-powered chatbot. These additions build on earlier releases such as Canva Docs and Canva Whiteboards, which were introduced in 2022 as alternatives to tools like Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and FigJam.
Known primarily as a design platform, Canva is now shifting toward becoming a full-service workspace tool for teams and businesses. With a user base of over 230 million, Canva aims to attract more enterprise users by reimagining traditional productivity tools with a visual-first approach.
The Visual Suite 2.0 empowers users to collaborate in real time across different formats—such as documents, presentations, websites, and animations—within a single project space. According to Canva, this upgrade is meant to eliminate the need for switching between multiple tools and dealing with scattered workflows or disconnected files. The goal is to enable teams to manage entire projects—from brainstorming and planning to final design and delivery—in one seamless platform.

Canva Sheets offers a new spin on traditional spreadsheets by blending text and visuals creatively. It supports data imports from platforms like Google Analytics, HubSpot, and Statista. With the AI-powered “Magic Insights,” Canva can automatically analyze data to highlight key trends, while “Magic Charts” transforms raw figures into engaging visuals such as infographics, animated graphs, and interactive reports.
Additionally, Canva Code introduces an AI coding assistant that functions similarly to tools like GitHub Copilot and Gemini Code Assist. This feature allows users to generate websites, widgets, and interactive elements simply by typing in a prompt—no programming skills or external software required.
