Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets now support another AI assistant—Meta AI. Alongside existing options like Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and Perplexity, users can now install the new Meta AI app from the Google Play Store.
Previously available only within Meta apps like Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, Meta AI now has a standalone app for Android and iOS. This allows users to interact with the assistant outside of chat apps.
Meta AI is powered by the new Llama 4 model, which is designed to be more conversational and personalized. It can remember past conversations and user preferences to provide a more tailored experience, although this feature is currently only available in the U.S. and Canada.
The app includes a voice mode called Full-Duplex Mode, which allows continuous voice conversations, similar to Google’s Gemini Live. This feature is still being tested and is available only in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the U.S.
Meta AI also improves over time by learning from your interactions and content you’ve liked or shared on Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram. It can generate or edit images using your text or voice input and has a Discover feed where you can explore or remix prompts shared by others.
In countries where Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses are available, users can switch between the glasses and the app for a more seamless experience. However, resuming from the app or web to the glasses isn’t supported yet.
Meta AI for Web
Meta AI on the web has also received updates, now offering the Discover feed, voice interaction history, and a better image generation tool with settings for lighting, style, and mood. There’s also a document editor that can create and export content as PDFs or analyze uploaded documents.
Further, these features are accessible through any browser on Galaxy Books, Chromebooks, and tablets.
